Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Centre for Research and Innovation Services (Guarantee) Ltd ("CRIS") handles personal information collected through crisglobal.org.

1. Information we collect

  • Contact details you submit via forms or email: name, email address, phone number, address, organisation.
  • Payment metadata returned by PayHere: order ID, amount, currency, status, PayHere payment ID. We do not receive or store card numbers, CVV or bank credentials.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for site security and analytics.

2. How we use it

  • To provide membership, ethics review and event registration.
  • To reconcile payments and issue receipts.
  • To respond to enquiries and communicate service updates.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Payment processing

Card and bank details are entered directly on PayHere's secure checkout — they never touch CRIS servers. PayHere's own privacy policy governs their processing of your financial data.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

  • PayHere, to complete the payment you initiated.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Regulators, auditors or law-enforcement authorities when required by law.

5. Retention

Payment records are retained for at least seven (7) years to meet accounting and tax obligations. Membership and ethics review records are retained for the duration of the relationship plus five (5) years. General enquiries are retained for up to two (2) years.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls and encrypted storage. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure; we ask you to protect your own account credentials.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@crisglobal.lk. We may need to retain certain records to meet legal obligations.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies to keep the site working. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date reflects the current version.
