Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website crisglobal.org and the services provided by the Centre for Research and Innovation Services (Guarantee) Ltd ("CRIS", "we", "us"). By accessing this site, purchasing a membership, registering for a CRIS-hosted event or requesting a research ethics review, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About CRIS

CRIS is a non-profit company limited by guarantee, incorporated in 2018 under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka. Our services span multidisciplinary research facilitation, ethics review, partnership brokering, capacity building and event organisation.

2. Products & services

• Individual Membership — LKR 15,000 / year
• Organisational Membership — LKR 25,000 / year
• Research Ethics Review — LKR 50,000 / application
• NEW2AN 2026 Conference Registration — USD 100

All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. CRIS reserves the right to change pricing; changes apply only to purchases made after the new price is published.

3. Payments

Online payments are processed by PayHere, a licensed payment gateway. CRIS does not receive, store or process your card details. You will be redirected to PayHere to complete the transaction and returned to our site once payment is confirmed.

4. Membership

A CRIS membership is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of payment and grants access to the benefits described on our membership page. Memberships are non-transferable.

5. Ethics review

CRIS provides advisory research ethics review while we pursue formal accreditation locally and globally. Our review does not substitute for approval by any institutional review board or regulator that has jurisdiction over your research. Turnaround times are indicative and depend on assessor availability and revisions requested.

6. Event registration

Registration for CRIS-hosted or co-hosted events (including NEW2AN 2026) is governed by the event's published terms in addition to these Terms. Where the two conflict, the event terms prevail for that event only.

7. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Where a refund is due, it is credited back to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to gain unauthorised access, upload malicious content, or use CRIS services to conduct unlawful, deceptive or harmful activity. We may suspend or terminate access without notice for breach of these Terms.

9. Intellectual property

The CRIS name, logo, site content and materials are the property of CRIS or its licensors. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial reference.

10. Limitation of liability

CRIS provides its services on an "as-is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CRIS is not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental loss arising from your use of the site or services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
